Fabulous Christmas Card Swap

All of our handmade cards for the swap

A few weeks ago we finally got our Christmas cards out in the mail for our Christmas Card Swap hosted by Kid's Craft Weekly. It was so much fun. We took a while to come up with our card ideas and of course we couldn't settle on just ONE idea. So we made two different designs.

Collaged angels:

Acrylic paintings with fabric appliques:

Lil' Mermaid was the designated sentiment writer:

We had such a blast making the cards:

Of course, this is what happens when you ignore a two year old in order to help the six year olds finish their cards:
This is what happens...

But we persevered and before we mailed them off we added some goodies. Yes, we are total gift-giving craft nerds. That's us and we're proud of it!! :-) We added a little craft kit to all of our Christmas swap buddy packages. We hope they enjoy them.

We have been so happy to check the mail every day for all of our Christmas cards that we have been receiving....but I must say that the swap cards are the ones eliciting mad dashes into the house and frenzied ripping of envelopes. So far we've received cards from Mexico, Australia, Alaska, Washington, Minnesota.... it's so much fun. And yes, It's possible that I might even be more excited than the maniacs.

So much thanks to Amber for hosting this swap. It's such a great family holiday activity and so simple and so crafty and so fun. Did I say that already?

  1. The cards look amazing but I have to admit my favorite picture is of Milly's handiwork on the stairs. So telling of the challenges we face trying to keep the bigger kids occupied while keeping the little ones out of trouble.

  2. Hello

We are an AUstralian family who received a card from you. I just wanted to say thank you for putting so much effort into it - my boys absolutely loved it and raced straight to their rooms to create something with the craft materials. It is lovely that the spirit of celebration is so slive and well with you! Happy holidays, Gwyn
