Fall Pop Art a la Warhol
Here was my second art lesson for Miss L's class. I personally like the accessibility of Pop Art...bright colors, repeated images...Fall and Andy Warhol should make a fun combination.
First I talked to the kids about Pop Art in general terms with some art examples. Then I narrowed it down and talked more specifically about Andy Warhol's particular style of pop art. Then I passed out some simple Fall shape ideas and the kids doodled their own designs on scratch paper.
The kids just used copy paper and folded it into fourths. Then they started drawing their 4 shapes.
Art Words we used: Pop Art, Color, Contrast, Complementary, Pattern, Line, Negative Space, Positive Space,Balance, Repetition
#1 Solid Color Background
#2 Simple Fall Symbol x4
#3 Contrast the background and the symbol
#4 Symbol can be 1 color or a color blend or have patterns.
It was still early in the school year so everybody had relatively fresh markers to use for a nice coloring job.
Mounted on black construction paper, they made a colorful Fall display.
Wife to a VERY understanding man (even if he does roll his eyes and duck back into his garage way too much); mother to three maniacs, crafter, professional volunteer, crazed maniac in her own right...yep, that about covers it for now.
It's about crafts, family, gardening, life....really whatever the heck I want to talk about. I am wordy, messy, opinionated, disorganized, lacking in focus, manic, craft obsessed...and pretty much this all spills out on the pages of this blog. You've been warned!
